“I could never do what you do!” is a statement I have heard many times in reference to our full-time RV lifestyle. Even now while we are not traveling full-time, we still take as many trips as we can and I often hear comments like that.
We are not rich people, in fact, we have had years of being the opposite. We prioritize travel with the kids for several reasons. We want our kids to have a stronger family bond and to invest that quality time in them. We want to show them as many amazing places as possible. We believe showing them the wonder of creation just speaks to the glory of God and how incredible He is. Seeing the Redwood forest, the Grand Canyon, Mount Shasta, a tiny snail, or a spike on a cactus all throw fuel on a child's natural wonder and curiosity.
My kids have been from Montana to Mexico and from coast to coast. We still have so much to visit and share with them but it has been well worth the money and time we have spent on traveling. They talk about past trips all the time, even ones we did years ago. Traveling with kids isn’t always easy but it isn’t as daunting as I have heard people talk about it. It takes patience, time, money, and planning. But those memories you make with your kids are never going to be wasted.
